GIF Polaroids Are Possible! Instagif Is Here To Prove It.
An avid Reddit user Abhishek Singh created a DIY polaroid camera capable of printing GIF images. The man confesses that he took inspiration from Polaroid OneStep camera SX-70, and truly they do look almost identical. However, Singh’s creation ejects a Polaroid-sized LCD that plays back just recorded GIF, instead of simply printing it on film. And if you are a true Polaroid fan, then yes, the camera is programmed to slowly fade like any Polaroid photo would.
Singh created the camera over the course of three weeks, and recorded his progress in an Imgur album and has posted all the necessary code on GitHub. He built it from scratch, using a Raspberry Pi in the camera and in the cartridge.
